But, if you are into social networking, you have launch another app to update Facebook. You cannot update all your Twitter accounts and your Facebook account from one iPhone app.

That’s where an app like Seesmic is incredibly useful.

As a little background, Seesmic has a popular desktop social networking client that makes managing your social networks like Twitter & Facebook a breeze.

Now they have an iPhone app that lets you update your Twitter & Facebook from one app. Also, if you know of and use Ping.fm, you can update multiple websites at once. If you have not explored this option, I highly recommend giving ping.fm a try.

Let’s take a look at what Seesmic offers as a

Twitter Client

Seesmic has a plain vanilla Twitter interface that we are so used to seeing. The bottom pane has access to Timeline, Replies, Retweets, Messages & Profile. At the top left is where you can go back to view your accounts making switching accounts painless.

You can search the tweet timeline and there is a handy refresh button that takes a bit of the real estate. You can tap any tweet to go to a single tweet window. Here you can favorite it, reply, retweet, direct message or share by email or send to Evernote! (Evernote iPhone app review)

The write screen in Seesmic offers a nice layout and most importantly lets you easily switch accounts (where recently reviewed Tweetaholic fell short) to post updates. Not only that, you can tap and choose multiple accounts to update them all at once!

Facebook Client

The Facebook page by default shows you status updates from your friends. You can tap on any update to interact with it. You can ‘Like’ the update, share it by email or send to Evernote, or leave a comment.

Seesmic is a nice package for those looking to update multiple social networking sites from one app. And the price is right.

A short while back, Twitter bought the Tweetie app developed by @atebits.

And now, Twitter for iPhone official app has been released to the App Store by Twitter for free.

A few changes I noticed right off the bat are

• You can now browse Twitter, see suggested users by topic, etc without signing in or signing up for an account.
• The search tab now has trending topics.
• Full list support
• A dedicated button for official retweet feature. I still like the ‘quote tweet’ option, which is still there.
• Follow/unfollow button has been moved up.

Here is the official word

Tweetie is now Twitter! We didn’t just do a name change, we’ve added a bunch of new stuff.

Search has been reorganized, now you can search all tweets and find users in the same spot, view Top Tweets and Browse Suggested users.

Search results now include Top Tweets, try it with Trends…winner combo!

You can now use Twitter without an account! Search, Browse uses, view trends and top tweets.

Sign-up is now availabile within the application as well, complete with Suggested user list.

More tab has been re-organized to accomplish all this. Users with one account can add a second account under the Accounts and Settings button here.

Actions we’ve found people use most, like Retweet have been moved to the main actions bar.

Minor tweaks were made to tweet rendering so they match Twitter.com tweets

There are many live video streaming apps for iPhone 3G and 3GS like Qik, Knocking Live, etc. But, there is an important piece missing in these apps. A conversation piece while broadcasting.

So, naturally I get excited at any bit of enhancements that come to the WordPress iPhone App.

WordPress 2 iPhone App hit the App Store last night and I just wanted to share my experience so far with it.

One thing to note right out the door is that WordPress 2 is a whole new app. And you won’t see an update notice in App Store for your current app. You have search for “WordPress 2” and install it.

WordPress 2 New Features

• A new, more efficient user interface that makes it faster to switch between comments, posts, and pages.
• Various user interface refinements and bug fixes
• New Comments interface, with Gravatars and the author URL shown in the comment list
• Passwords are now stored in the keychain
• Posts are now automatically saved and restored if network connection is lost during publishing
• Added persistence, so the app re-opens in the blog you last used
• Added an interface for manually entering the XMLRPC endpoint for non-standard setups
• Fixed rotation-related visual glitches
• Fixed errors where malformed XML prevented access to XMLRPC endpoint
• Fixed edge case where local drafts were sometimes not saved
• Fixed the order of photos so that they’re displayed in the order they’re uploaded

My first impression as soon as i launched the app was that the interface has gotten a nice overhaul. It just looks pleasant to look at.

Next thing that jumps out is the comments interface. It shows Gravatars, author URL in the comment list. Also, you can switch between comments, posts and pages easily.

Another huge one for me and presumably you, is that posts are automatically saved if network connection is lost during publishing!

I can’t tell you how any times I have lost a post when I leave the house while the house is publishing and the my connection switches from Wireless to 3G.

I have 4 blogs in my WordPress setup and being able to get back to the same blog i was last in is definitely a nice touch.

The Write screen has also been made nice with the Write and Photos tab at the bottom so it’s easy to switch between the two. I would love to see some rich text editing support but that probably is a limitation of the iPhone OS than the app itself.

WordPress 2 is open source and free! So, if you have a WordPress blog and a iPhone there is no reason you shouldn’t try this app.Plus, you can follow the new developments at the new blog Making WordPress for iPhone.

I honestly haven’t used paid blogging apps like Blogpress (I just noticed they have a free lite version so I will be trying it shortly)  but I am glad to see new features and improvements with this great app from the community!
