Both Karthik & I use Dropbox here heavily!
If you are not familiar with Dropbox, it is a multi-platform file sync service that works on Windows, Mac & Linux! The Free Dropbox account gets you 2GB of file storage.
The great thing about Dropbox is that you install a client on your machines and just forget about. It seamlessly integrates in the native file explorer and syncs in the background. It is intelligent enough to sync the most recent files first (matters when you are syncing a new computer). Also, it keeps different revisions of a file as you change it from various computers. So this is great for collaboration as well.
Dropbox team just announced today that they are releasing a iPhone App shortly. I am super excited about it as this will be file sync Nirvana! I can access my files from my laptop, desktop, browser or my iPhone! You can even get Dropbox Portable to go in your USB drive. Talk about being connected!
Plus, the newer versions are getting better performance through a LAN sync feature.
