Turn Your iPhone Into A Digital Photo Frame

You probably don’t use your iPhone at work while working. Or when you are home doing your bills.

How would you like to turn your iPhone into a Digital Photo Frame?

There is an app for that.

PhotoFrame by Chilli X is an awesome app that turns your iPhone or iPod Touch into a digital photo frame.

PhotoFrame displays pictures in a slideshow with a big display of the current time and date just like those digital photo frames.

It ships with a bunch of images but you can easily customize it by replacing it with pictures in your iPhone. You can choose upto 20 pictures from your iPhone Camera Roll and display it as a photo frame.

The interface itself is a joy to use. You might be bewildered inititally as there is no Settings button. you just tap on the date/time area to go to the Settings page. You get to choose the pictures and the slideshow speed between 5s to 120s.

When the slideshow is on, you can also switch to next image by just swiping across the picture.

PhotoFrame overrides the iPhone autolock setting so you don’t have to manually turn it off. Of course, you would want to keep it in a dock of some sort so it your iPhone is charging up and not eating up your battery.

PhotoFrame is a winner for $0.99 and I have started to use it in so many settings.

Here are a couple of things I wish for in a future update:

  • Landscape mode support
  • Support for more than 20 pictures

I just need a vertical iPhone dock to keep it charged up and this program will become my bedside companion forever.
