Twitter iPhone Apps like iTwitter, TweetDeck, etc are the most used in my iPhone. But, even iTwitter has only push notifications enabled only for other iTwitter users.
iTweetReply aims to fills this gap and provides a much needed functionality. iTweetReply sends you push notifications for Twitter replies & direct messages.
The interface itself is pretty simple with 3 tabs – Replies, Messages & Timeline. In timeline, you see all your friends Tweets. Remember, iTweetReply is not a full blown Twitter client but does let you access replies, direct messages, your timeline and even send tweets.
When you receive a reply or a direct message, you will see a popup like this showing even part of the message. In the settings tab, you can set how often you would like to check for messages.
The direct message popup also has a ‘Reply’ and ‘Close’ buttons even when the phone is locked letting you quickly get to the app to reply. When you are in the tab, you can tap on a message to switch it to SMS chat style dialogue.
In the Replies tab, when you click on a message you can either send a Reply or a DM right from there.
And when you are replying to someone, notice the + symbol, you can click on that to Add them to your following list.
iTweetReply is good at what it does. It brings push notifications for Twitter on your iPhone and works flawlessly in that aspect. But, if you are used to a full blown Twitter app like iTwitter, TweetDeck, etc you might use this just for Push notifications.
Unless, iTweetReply adds more features and works towards becoming a full blown client the app’s future might be in question. I would love to hear the authors views on what he sees as the future for this app.
I have a review of iTwitter coming soon. Stay tuned.

Hey All, i’m Matthew Lesh from Syncode and on the development team of iTweetReply.
Thankyou very much for your review of iTweetReply; in relation to questions asked.
Right now we’re focusing on push; we want to do that really well and hence be the best in that field. But outside that we’ve got an extensive list of features we’re working on. From search inside the app itself to pushing your timeline to being able to create custom push tags to search twitter.
Overtime we intend to bring lots of new features but it’s likely to not extend to a full twitter client at this stage.
