MacObserver is reporting that Apple is sending out invitation to journalists for a Notebook-related media event on October 14. 
This is hot on the heels of rumors of a $800 Macbook Lite! Apple has a knack for building up hype and yes we are taking part in the hype machine.
With the economy doing cartwheels right now and Apple’s earnings report coming on the 21st, it will be interesting to see what Apple has to offer just in time for the holiday shopping season. The high entry price on Macbooks have always made me buy a PC, but I will definitely take a second look if it was anything close to the $800 Macbook rumor.
