DevTeam Releases PwnageTool 2.2.5 to Jailbreak 2.2.1 (no QuickPwn 2.2.5 yet)

iPhone firmware 2.2.1 has been released and you are probably here looking for Quickpwn or Pwnage to jailbreak 2.2.1 firmware. Dev Team hasn’t released an update yet for 2.2.1 and check this more up-to-date post here for current information on jailbreaking 2.2.1 firmware.

iPhone Dev Team has already come out with jailbreak software for iPhone firmware 2.2. Much faster than even the last time. In fact, last time Windows users had to wait a little for the QuickPwn but this time Dev Team released them all together.

Before you go downloading QuickPwn 2.2 or PwnageTool 2.2.1 and start jailbreaking, make sure you read this excellent post from Dev Team.

Quicpwn 2.2 and PwnageTool 2.2.1

• iPhone 2G - Just update or restore to firmware 2.2 via iTunes and run QuickPwn.
• iPod Touch 1G - Update to 2.2 with iTunes and run QuickPwn
• iPod Touch 2G - no support at this time
• Locked iPhone 3G - Read the Dev Team post before you jailbreak to understand. Basically, if you have hpes of soft unlocking your iPhone 3G, don’t use iTunes to update to 2.2 fimrware.
• Locked iPhone 3G - If you have no intention of unlocking your iPhone in the future, then just update to 2.2 via iTunes and run QuickPwn.
